ANGELINA AND CRYSTILINA FIBERS

AND FUSIBLE FILM

WHAT WE’VE LEARNED SO FAR

FUSED ANGELINA OR CRYSTILINA FIBERS

Sprinkle a small amount of Angelina Fibers onto parchment paper.

CAUTION: Keep all the fibers on the parchment -- if it gets on your iron it’s a real mess.

Cover the fibers with another piece of parchment paper.

Iron across it very fast. (Rayon or Silk setting).

Let the paper cool.

Once cool, lift off top parchment sheet.

You will have a fused sheet of iridescence.

You can make a thicker or bigger piece, by adding Angelina and ironing it together.

If you want to make unique colors, start adding other colors of Angelina and iron them together:

Adding Embellishments: If you want to add embellishments like snips of fabric, snips of other fused Angelina, threads, sequins, charms, etc.:

Put your fused Angelina sheet on parchment.

Put your embellishments where you want them.

Add some more Angelina fibers.

Cover the fibers with another piece of parchment paper.

Iron across it very fast. (Rayon or Silk setting).

Let the paper cool.

Once cool, lift off top sheet.

FUSING TO FABRICS

Place organza, chiffon, hand dyed fabric, etc., on parchment paper.

Cut Steam a Seam to fit the fabric.

Peel off both sides of the Steam a Seam and put it on fabric

Sprinkle a small amount of Angelina Fibers, torn sheets of Angelina and other fibers or embellishments onto the Steam a Seam.

CAUTION: Keep all the fibers on the parchment -- if it gets on your iron it’s a real mess

Cover the fibers with piece of tulle, chiffon or other sheer fabric.

Cover the fibers with another piece of parchment paper.

Iron across it very fast. (Rayon or Silk setting).

Let the paper cool.

Once cool, lift off top sheet.

You will have a great piece of embellished fabric.

USING WATER SOLUBLE PAPER OR STABILIZER

Trace your design onto the water soluble paper or stabilizer.

Cover your design with tulle and then add a fused Angelina sheet and another piece of tulle.

Free motion or hand stitch the fabric layers. Experiment with different threads and stitches to get different effects.

Follow manufacturer’s instructions for removing paper or stabilizer.

Iron dry with a press cloth and trim your appliqué.

FUSING FUSIBLE FILMS

This is done just like you did the Angelina/Crystilina fibers sheets.

Put the film on a piece of parchment paper.

Put some Angelina or Crystilina fibers on top.

Put parchment over it and iron.

Add more Angelina fibers.

Iron.

This is the front of the fused sheet.

This is the back of the fused sheet.

USING FUSIBLE FILM

Put a piece of film on parchment paper.

Add another color.

Put parchment paper over the two sheets.

Press quickly with hot iron.

You can keep adding colors, or fold the two sheets up on each other and press each time you add film or fold it.
