JAPANESE FAN: This is a really easy and fun quilt to make. If you have ever wanted to make something out of those beautiful Japanese prints, this is a great quilt to do that with. It is also a good way to use some of the small strips you have left over. I used Japanese prints because I wanted to design a Japanese quilt, however it can be done with many different fabrics. PIECING 101: In this class you will learn to rotary cut and piece six different blocks. 6ou will learn how to sew them together and how to add borders to make a wall hanging (quilt top) approximately 40”x40”. FIBER ART CLASSES
EASY EMBELLISHED VEST: This class is mainly about embellishment - learning about and playing with various techniques such as stenciling, using paint and paintsticks, sheer overlays, scrunching, discharging and whatever else I can think of! Bring your own toys (supplies) such as paint, brushes, dyes, stencils, paintstiks, etc., or use mine. There will be a one-time supply charge of $10 if you chose to play with my toys. FABRIC ORIGAMI: Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. Fabric Origami uses fabric instead of paper. Come join us for an afternoon experimenting with this fun new craft. Just stiffen some fabric, iron, cut a square and fold. You will need to purchase a kit before class. INTRODUCTION TO SILK PAINTING: This is a very basic class where you will get to play with silk paints & resists seeing how the whole process works. You will not necessarily be very skilled when you complete the class but you will have the basics & know if you want to peruse the technique farther. It’s a hands-on class. MAKING JOURNAL COVERS: These are fun and you can go wild once you get hooked. We will make 3 different covers, with three different bindings. BEGINNING KNITTING: This class is for those who have never knitted, or who have minimal knitting skills. We will make a hat which will be knit in the round because that is the easiest way to make a hat. Be sure to check the supply list as it is very specific. KNITTED RUFFLED SHAWL: Picking from the beautiful yarns available is the hardest part of this class. You will learn the basic technique that creates the ruffle.
