Psst! Attention Fellow Human Quilters and Knitters, Have you seen them? You know they’re out there. Lurking in the collective galaxy of our quilting rooms and the black holes of knitting bags. You know, those UFO’s, Un Finished Objects. Sew What has declared war on UFO’s and we are building our strategy to eliminate as many of them as possible during the month of October. We ask that you join forces with us and overcome their ever increasing population! The current state of financial affairs has prompted us to be re-motivated in using our existing resources. Take a look at those UFO’s and let us help you find excitement and enjoyment in turning that dull uninteresting project into something that says WOW! How about buying a backing fabric that is a show stopper and making the back the front. Cut up a UFO top and piece it into a new project. Trade your UFO for someone else’s and finish theirs your way then trade back when they are finished. You get the idea, be creative. Desperate times call for desperate measures! We plan on infiltrating the UFO’s by blending in as aliens the month of October so be sure to stop by or visit us on the web to see our creative tactics! October is also the month we clear out the shelves to make room for new arrivals by having our semi-annual sale, 20% to 75% off! September begins the quilting and knitting season anew. We are planning some fun kick off events to get everyone in the mood. Of course, with us that always involves food! In addition, get a look at new yarns, fabrics, books and patterns that hopefully inspire you for fall. Be sure to sign up for these events early since space is limited! Guaranteed to be a good time. September is also the time for the annual “Party on the River” Shop Hop. 9 shops, lots of prizes and give aways so mark your calendar for September 12 and 13 and put on your party shoes, our shop is doing a beach party, so flip flops are fine! December is always such a busy month with Christmas days away, office parties, family obligations, shopping, decorating and baking! When are we supposed to finish up those Christmas projects we started but haven’t managed to finish? We have a solution. We are scheduling only a few classes for the month so that our classroom is available for you to come in (at no charge) and work uninterrupted from the phone, kids, dirty dishes or anything else that tends to put quilting and knitting time on the back burner. Let Sew What be your day getaway! Before you know it another year will have gone by. Wow, how does it happen so fast? It seems this year has been difficult for many of us one way or another. Financial worries, fire evacuations, illness and many other hardships have been endured this past year, but we need to be grateful for the blessings we have received. The love and caring of friends and family seem to overcome the most difficult of all obstacles. I am particularly grateful to my customers for the support you have given this shop and the many friendships that have evolved and grown deeper over the past year. I wish everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous 2009! Nanu nanu (that’s good-bye for now in alien) Lori and the Sew What gang WHERE FABRIC BECOMES ART
