SEW WHAT’S NEW?
NOLI wants to celebrate her BIRTHDAY with Haven Humane again Noli had so much fun last year and the year before that she wants to do it again. Even though she had a great time at the party, her favorite part was taking all the food and toys to Haven Humane and sharing it. We are celebrating her birthday on Saturday, August 9th. Bring some food or a toy and get some cake. By the way, for those of you with extra cat food -- Maggie asked Noli if she’d take cat food or toys and she said she would – cats need as much love as dogs.
We don’t have pictures of last year’s party -- what kind of partents are we??? We will make sure and take some this year!
FAIRY FROST CHALLENGE The winner of the Fairy Frost Challenge is Fi Allen. This is her winning quilt
KNITTING KICKOFF Monday, September 15th 2:00 - 6:00 PM Please join us for our annual Knitting Kickoff. We will be displaying new samples, patterns and books. Enjoy refreshments. See what projects other knitters are doing. Wear or bring in a hand-knitted or crocheted item and receive 25% off your purchases for the day. There will be food and drawings for prizes.
IS THE MONTH TO FINISH ALL THOSE We are reserving the whole month of October to finish all our Un-Finished Objects. UFO’S At the beginning of October, show us all your UFO’s. Then during the month, each time you finish a UFO, you get to put a star on the Rocketship. The person with the most stars at the end of the month will forever be known as the MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE. We have planned two big days for working on your UFOs at the shop. These will be potlucks so we will have enough calories and energy to do all our work. These are going to be eat, be merry, work hard, laugh hard, fun-filled working days:
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND 9:30 TO 4:00
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD 9:30 TO 4:00 While this is a free event except for a food item you’ll bring, we need you to sign up and let us know what dish you will be bringing (so we don’t get 27 quiches and we know how many plates to have).
SALE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17TH SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH
Mark your calendar 20% to 75% off selected fabric and yarn.
HATS, GLOVES, SCAVES Once again we are donating hats, mittens or gloves and scarves to the needy. Last year we donated about 175 to three charities: The Women’s Refuge, Living Hope Mission and The Good News Rescue Mission. They were much appreciated! Hats can be hand-made or purchased and they need to be washable. Please bring items to Sew What by December 16th.
We’ve noticed over the years that December is not a good month for having classes – everyone is too busy finishing up their Christmas items. So we didn’t schedule any classes. This means our classroom is empty for the month.
If you need a place to hide away to finish your projects, think about using our classroom. You can work continuously without interruptions from the kids or hubby, the dirty dishes won’t be calling you, and the phone won’t ring.
No cost. Just call and make a reservation – we need to know you are coming.
